What we do

Since its establishment, the Central Bohemian and Prague Branch of the Czech Society for Ornithology has been gradually developing its activities. Our work is built around three key pillars:

  • Community – we want to interconnect and develop the community of ornithologists and birders in Central Bohemia and Prague. Our vision is to help share the joy of ornithology and to enable professional and amateur ornithologists to find friends or colleagues for common activities.
  • Support – connecting the community of ornithologists will allow us to direct support where it is most needed. Various ongoing activities, such as monitoring, education or administrative procedures welcome every hand to lend.
  • Our own program – starting our own plan of activities, based largely on the breadth of the members’ base and the ability of individual members to become actively involved. At this point, we have a general outline of areas (see below) that can be addressed.

Program areas

These areas of activity define the scope of work carried out by members of the Czech Society for Ornithology’s Central Bohemian and Prague Branch.

  • Ornithological club
  • School education program
  • Ornithological training
  • Ornithological tours

  • Social networks

Membership events

We organize a variety of leisure activities for our members to meet and share their passion for birds.

  • Ornithological meetings

In all program areas, we are consistently interested in broader collaboration, whether with other branches, universities, research institutes, towns/municipalities, or other institutions.
